The Sea+Tea Story
In my youth, I spent the summer with my grandparents up in Maine. Some of my happiest childhood memories are from those summers. My grandparents did normal things to spoil their grandchildren. They fattened us up on lobster, clam chowder and anything else we wanted to eat. We went on boat rides and fished. Water sports and swimming were part of our daily life. We shopped and visited farms. We gardened and went to theatre productions. All of our days were filled with love and family. Each summer, we went to a vacation spot along the Maine coastline from our grandparents home. A few of those vacations were spent at The Cliff House in Cape Neddick, until one day when my grandparents retired nearby. Sea+Tea is about the cycle of happiness inspired by those summers and the extension of those summers that I get to live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland now as an adult. It is amazing how similar our spot on the Chester River is to Cape Neddick, Maine (without the cliffs). It’s in drawing these connections from my happiest youth to my happiest adulthood that I was focused on developing a line that evokes joy and happiness for all of us.
